Kate Middleton Unveils Royal Makeover During Babymoon With Prince William

Kate Middleton appears to be taking advantage of a reprieve in her crippling morning sickness by unveiling a royal makeover while enjoying a “babymoon” with her husband, Prince William.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been enjoying what appears to be her newfound health by spending some time away with Prince William, and in doing so has shown off a new style.

Kate has been going through an overall shift in style, Cosmopolitan noted. The Duchess has shed her matronly style that she debuted earlier this year in favor of a new, more colorful look.

The magazine noted that Middleton’s makeover was on display at two gala parties last week, where she wore “a stunning ice blue Jenny Packham gown, and an edgy black Temperley dress.”

As Cosmo noted, the makeover is the work of a new fashion consultant for Kate Middleton.

“Though Kate was apparently a ‘reluctant fashion icon’ at first, Vanity Fair adds that she wants to be seen as trendy all the same. She’s apparently now having her new stylist shop online for her ‘a lot’ (can you imagine packing an ASOS order with the delivery address Kensington Palace?!) and is enjoying taking more ‘risks’ in the fashion stakes.”

Color analyst Melissa Nicholson said Kate Middleton has done an excellent job of matching looks with her skin tone.

“It is quite obvious that Kate is a summer,” Nicholson told the Daily Mail. “I would say her best shades are French navy, airforce blue, aubergine, plum, burgundy, soft berry and grey (anything from silver to slate).”

Nicholson added, “Spring colors are too bright and playful for Kate, winter colors too overpowering and autumn colors are too heavy and boring. The summer colors accentuate her natural beauty – she looks sophisticated and elegant in cool soft tones.”

For Kate Middleton, the fashion makeover could be a way to release some tension from the challenging start to her second pregnancy. Duchess Kate’s bout with hyperemisis gravidarum — a condition also known as extreme morning sickness that can result in severe weight loss and dehydration — left her bedridden for several weeks.
