By now we have all heard about the homophobic man that was slammed to the ground at a Dallas airport. Now there’s a new development in the story. Currently actor Paul Rudd is filming his first superhero film Marvel’s Ant-Man, and some people have speculated that Rudd was at the Dallas airport and sprung into action to also tackle the man.

Video was captured of the belligerent man assaulting someone who he thought was gay at the Dallas airport. Instantly. a pile of others got involved and restrained the man. Now that we have footage everyone has commented about one man in particular who looks an awful lot like actor Paul Rudd.

According to a man who has an uncanny resemblance to Paul Rudd helped tackle the man.

Then this discourse happened on Twitter between a woman who saw Paul Rudd at an airport and another user that wanted to make #PaulRuddSavesLives happen.

Others followed in suit.

The internet kind of took this bit of news and ran with it, because honestly, who wouldn’t want to think only the nicest and most heroic things about Paul Rudd? Unfortunately, we’re finding out that this was not Paul Rudd, and just a really awesome doppleganger who should be commended for his services.

So how did everyone find out that the heroic man isn’t Paul Rudd? Just the use of some photoshop cleared that one up. A more sharpened version of the screen grab revealed that it’s just a doppleganger.
