American Idol fans likely remember Haley Reinhart as the jazzy “growler” from the reality franchise’s season 10, when she was eliminated just short of the final two. With stellar performances of classics such as Benny and the Jets and The House of the Rising Sun , Reinhart made her mark in a cycle of strong and unique singers.
Post- Idol , Reinhart has been quiet. Her release after her Idol departure, Listen Up! failed to make a big sales impact, despite Entertainment Weekly calling it “one of the strongest post- Idol albums ever produced — a sexy, Motown-tinged retro-pop delight.” Weekly concluded that Reinhart may have been the victim of the tendency of music executives to play it safe with reality show stars, not allowing them to express themselves creatively in the music they release after the show ends. In Reinhart’s case, the result was the single Free , an adult contemporary ballad that had little of the jazzy edge expected by Reinhart fans.
Reinhart was dropped by Interscope, the label that signed her on immediately following her Idol success, in November 2012. In early 2014, she reached out to fans through IndieGogo to fund a new music video, successfully reaching her $30,000 goal. The result was the video for Show Me Your Moves , released this summer. The track featured fellow American Idol season 10 alum Casey Abrams on bass .
Now, ole, a music rights management company, has announced the expansion of its existing deal with Reinhart. The partnership has already resulted in Reinhart’s music gaining recent exposure through television and film. The new contract will give ole worldwide co-publishing rights to her existing and future catalog. The best news for Reinhart’s fans is that the arrangement also includes funding of a new Reinhart EP.
In a press release, Reinhart expressed excitement at the new deal.
“It’s been a marvelous experience working with such a unique company like ole. They are very attentive and knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the industry. I’ve become close with so many writers, producers, and staff on board over the past few years. We’ve accomplished so much together already. I’m excited to see us bloom into our full potential.”
She also gave her fans a heads up on Twitter about the news.

In addition to the new deal, Reinhart is a working musician. She recently posted on Instagram about her upcoming gig with Dylan Chambers and Dancing With The Stars professional Mark Ballas. The trio will take to the stage on October 28th in Los Angeles.
