Britney Spears’ Star Power Brings In $20 Million To Vegas

For the past few years, Britney Spears has been something of a punchline to a lot of celebrity jokes. After some mediocre performances and some strange mental breakdowns, Britney Spears seemed to have lost her celebrated status in the pop world. But Britney may be ready to get back on her feet. After staying in Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood for an extended period, Spears’ sheer star power alone brought in $20 million to the hotel.

According to the Daily Mail, Britney is considering extending her residency in Vegas for a $12 million deal in order to continue reeling in tourists and money-spending outsiders. Spears show Britney: Piece of Me at Planet Hollywood was solely responsible from bringing in $20 million to Vegas’ Planet Hollywood in earnings, according to Billboard, so a continued stay has the potential to rake in even more. Britney could be extending her residency in Vegas all the way through 2017. In September, Britney claimed she “relished” the consistency of her new performance schedule and found it “really grounding.”

The deal between Britney and Vegas is a win-win, because Britney will be continuing the recovery of her music career while making some money in the process, and Planet Hollywood will continue to attract people from all around the world to see Britney Spears rekindling her prime.

Britney Spears seems happy about the deal. She was spotted leaving a nail salon in Los Angeles this past Wednesday with a smile on her face, an orange cardigan, short shorts, and a revealing t-shirt that read “Surf all day, dance all night.” Britney had a show scheduled that night, and publicized the performance on her Instagram page. Spears shared a photo of her in the same outfit with the caption “See you in Vegas!”

It seems Britney is getting her career back on track, and the new album she’s working on is evidence of that. Spears recently posted a photo of herself in the studio, recording some brand new Britney Spears music for fans to sink their teeth into. Read more here.

In fact, Britney was so excited about re-launching her music career that she spent $100,000 to make an extravagant announcement for her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, according to Business Insider. She was slated to make 48 performances of Britney: Piece of Me, with tickets ranging from $60 to $500. But after the massive success of Britney’s new show, that residency could go on a lot longer.
