Portia De Rossi Speaks Out About Pregnancy Reports, Jokes About Rumors With Ellen DeGeneres

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres don’t have a little one on the way, putting to bed rumors that they’re expecting a baby in the future.

After months of rumors about a possible baby, the pair finally spoke out this week, refuting the rumor on a segment of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“I know everything about you, obviously, so we had viewers write questions,” Ellen said on Tuesday. “One of the main things that everybody is asking me about, and asking you about — and I thought I would let you clear it up — is if we’re having a baby or not? So, I thought maybe you should answer that question.”

Portia de Rossi even held up a tabloid magazine claiming that she was pregnant.”Did you see? It says, ‘They’re finally starting a family!’ Are people really that mad at us?” she asked.

“We’re not gonna have a baby?” DeGeneres added. “No, we’re not,” her wife replied.

“Good for me to know now,” Ellen joked.

Ellen added that her assistant “asked if I’m keeping something from him because it’s so prevalent.”

“Everyone assumes we really are having a baby and we’re just not sharing it,” Ellen added.

Reports in the past few month claimed that Portia de Rossi was pregnant, a baby that she and Ellen hoped would save their shaky marriage. Sources claimed that Portia was hiding a baby bump. At the time, a source told Star Magazine that Ellen had finally agreed to have a baby after years of opposing the idea.

“The truth of the matter is, the baby wasn’t an attempt to save the relationship,” the source said. “Ellen felt that because of the change they had both made, they were already in a good place. She told Portia that she feels a baby is a missing piece of their puzzle, and would unite them forever.”

The same source added that the couple was actually planning on going public with the pregnancy very soon.

“Portia has already gained about 10 pounds and there is a lot of buzz among their friends that she is already two months pregnant,” the source said. “Portia is smiling more than she has in a long time–she’s certainly got that pregnancy glow.”

Apparently, it must be some other kind of glow that Portia de Rossi is sporting.
