Is Kendall Jenner Starving To Be Model-Slim With A Weight Loss ‘Teatox’? [Video]
Kendall Jenner is determined to succeed in the competitive world of supermodels. And that requires achieving a super-slim physique that can slip smoothly into those size zero fashion runway gowns and glitter. But now sources say that the young sibling of fashion diva Kim Kardashian is starving herself on a dangerous diet that consists only of raw vegetables and a special detox tea, reported Radar Online.
At 18, Kendall is 5 feet, 10 inches tall. However, a diet expert estimated that Jenner appears to weigh well below the healthy range for her height.
“She appears to weigh close to 100 pounds,” said nutritionist Lisa DeFazio, who does not treat Kendall. “A healthy weight for a woman that height is about 150 pounds.”
Why is Jenner limiting herself to so few calories per day? A source close to Kendall answered that question.
“She wants desperately to be taken seriously as a model,” said the insider. “And if it means starving herself, she’ll do it.”
Jenner recently appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue and discussed her views on modeling (see below).
Kendall was open about her use of dandelion root detox tea.
“I usually start my day off with a cup of detox tea,” said Jenner. “I have like 12 cups a day.”
These slimming weight loss detox teas are known as “teatox,” according to Asia One. With celebrities such as Kendall turning to the teas to speed up their weight loss, companies have responded by formulating products containing herbs and other ingredients purported to speed up the metabolism and provide a laxative effect.
Are the teas safe for long-term use? SkinnyMint Tea company’s CEO carefully responded.
“It’s about a lifestyle. It’s not for weight loss, it’s for detoxing. Some customers achieve weight loss and that’s a bonus,” he said.
Dr. Mehmet Oz has featured dandelion tea as part of a cleansing diet on his program. However, his 48-hour cleanse, for example, also includes a variety of other foods and limits dandelion detox tea to one cup per day rather than Jenner’s 12 cups.
To supplement her “teatox,” Kendall Jenner limits herself to vegetables, revealed Hollywood Life.
“During a recent family dinner, Kendall ordered just a bunch of raw veggies and nibbled on them,” said a source.
With three older sisters (Kim, Kourtney and Khloe), does Kendall get diet advice from them? As the Inquisitr reported, Kim Kardashian is also preoccupied with her weight. After watching her little sister succeed on the catwalks of Paris, Kim binged on baguettes, and now is determined to succeed on her own detox diet.
However, Kim’s weight loss plan is based on the low-carb diet model of the Atkins program rather than detox teas. And while she also eats raw veggies, her diet emphasizes protein and healthy fats.
What do you think? Is Kendall Jenner’s diet a good way to achieve her dream of becoming a supermodel? Or is the young girl endangering her health?
