‘7th Heaven’ Star Sarah Goldberg, 40, Dies In Her Sleep


CBS reports that Sara Goldberg, an actress well known for her role in the family TV series 7th Heaven, passed away in her sleep.

No cause of death has been reported, but it has been written that Sara Goldberg suffered from a heart condition. Goldberg, 40, passed away at a her family’s cottage located in Wisconsin. Goldberg was visiting her family in Chicago to celebrate the Jewish High Holy Days.

The Chicago Sun Times reported that an autopsy failed to show a clear conclusion on the cause of her death. Her mother, Judy Goldberg, told that paper that her daughter simply went to sleep and did not wake up.

Though she will be best remembered for her 7th Heaven role as Sara Glass Camden, Goldberg was an accomplished actress. Goldberg had roles in the movies Jurassic Park III, Training Day and My Best Friends Wedding. She appeared on television shows Judging Amy, Without A Trace, 90210, The Beast and House.

Goldberg starred on 7th Heaven from 2002 to 2006. He character was closely followed by fans. She played a medical student who was involved in a interfaith relationship.

Goldberg was born in Springfield, Illinois in 1974. She attended Chicago’s Latin School. Her career as an actress began when she played a bumblebee in a Chicago City Ballet production of “Cinderella.”

Sarah Goldberg was a 1996 graduate of Amherst College with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology.

“She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on 7th Heaven,” Judy Goldberg told the Chicago Sun Times.

The news of Sara Goldberg’s death came the same day that it was revealed that Stephen Collins, her 7th Heaven co-star was being investigated by the NYPD for several counts of child molestation. Special victims detectives are currently investigating Collins, 67. The investigation was brought about when TMZ posted an audiotape in which Collins confessed to sexually abusing three girls.

Goldberg was a devoted animal rescuer. She leaves behind her two pets Daisy and Bucket, both of whom she rescued. Goldberg was also an accomplished athlete and called Santa Monica, California home.

In a beautifully written obituary Sara Goldberg is described as a person who loved life, animals and the outdoors, especially camping, water skiing, fishing and canoeing. Goldberg’s memory will live on in her work in both TV and film.
