‘Bill And Ted 3’ Sequel Will Have Keanu Reeves, Alex Winters Promises Plot Will Be ‘Most Excellent’

The Bill And Ted 3 sequel is definitely going to be made according to Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves, who promise the final product will be most excellent.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, Reeves revealed last year they had an early draft of a Bill And Ted 3 script that was awaiting a rewrite from the writers and they still haven’t even received financing for the film.

“We don’t have a director, we don’t have any money, so we’re trying to get a script,” Reeves said, sounding like a total bummer. But despite all those difficulties, at the time Reeves claimed he would stick with the project. “Absolutely. But it still has to come together. It has to find the right producer and director. I think they’ve created a story that is fun and funny and would be very surreal for me to play, so if everything comes together the right way it could be fun.”

So they hopped in their telephone booth and a year later in real time Bill And Ted 3 had director Dean Parisot of Galaxy Quest fame on board for the ride. More importantly, they now have the money to pull off the project.

“We’ve been working on drafts for the last couple of years,” Winter said. “The script’s been finished for a while, but comedy is so specific. We’re in that world where producers are on, financiers are on and we’re just working and reworking the script.”

Unfortunately, the Bill And Ted 3 release date has not been announced, never mind when they’ll even start filming.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Winter also revealed that he and Reeves and the original film’s writers, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, came up with the concept for the direction they’re now taking with Bill And Ted 3.

“[Bill & Ted] will be 40-something and it’s all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up. It’s really sweet and really f***ing funny…But it’s a Bill & Ted movie, that’s what it is. It’s for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It’s not going to feel like a reboot. The conceit is really funny: What if you’re middle-aged, haven’t really grown up and you’re supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven’t?”

What do you think of the direction Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are going with Bill And Ted 3? Most excellent or wow… bummer?
