Jaime King On Breastfeeding: ‘Every Woman Has A Right’ — And Here Is Why

Jaime King has no regrets about her infamous breastfeeding pic posted earlier this year.

The breastfeeding picture, which sparked a lot of controversy and negative press while turning Jaime King into a trending topic, is actually still posted on her official Instagram profile. It has generated over 20,600 likes.

According to her recent interview published in the latest issue of Bello magazine, Jaime King feels that “every woman has a right” to do exactly what she wants to do.

“I posted it because I believe every woman has a right and a choice to do what she wants to do.”

Jaime also stated in the interview that the idea to take the breastfeeding picture in the first place was not planned by her at all. It was more of a last-minute, early morning idea of a friend.

“It was 4 am, and I was breastfeeding my son, when the woman who was helping me take care of him took the picture.”

The breastfeeding picture and the overall experience captured within the picture was very therapeutic and reassuring at the same time for Jaime King. During the interview, Jaime spoke openly about the doubts and uncertainties that she had about breastfeeding initially because of what she heard about the natural nourishing process from other people.

“I had been hearing so much BS about breastfeeding… and that if women use formula there must be something wrong with them. And it made me think about this thing within mommy-hood where there’s all this women against women stuff going on, so I posted it.”

The 35-year-old Hart of Dixie actress clearly has not changed her view on this issue since the breastfeeding picture was first posted back in June.

At that time, Jaime King was able to openly express herself and her thoughts in an interview with People Magazine in which she expressed what should be the most important point to every woman instead of arguing over whether breastfeeding is better or worst than using formula to feed your child.

“It doesn’t matter whether you breastfeed or formula feed — as long as you are loving and caring for your child, that’s all that matters.”

Jaime King is not the first actress that feels this way about breastfeeding; quite a few of them have even been pictured breastfeeding in public over the years.

In her interview with Bello magazine, Jaime King openly discussed quite a few more delicate topics — including the complications she experienced while trying to get pregnant as well as the not-so-pleasant truth about her past life.
