Amal Alamuddin Arrives In Italy For Marriage To George Clooney
Amal Alamuddin may have been prepared for the paparazzi snaps as she touched down in Milan, Italy yesterday. Pictures published in the The Mirror and Daily Mail show the 36-year-old looking radiant, casually flashing her large engagement ring. The human rights lawyer is set to marry George Clooney in Venice this weekend.
Alamuddin appeared to be traveling light, with only one suitcase, a box, and a garment bag. However, her mother Baria and an assistant were spotted with another six suitcases.
George Clooney’s fiance seemed at ease and relaxed, with touch-perfect makeup and brilliantly styled hair. Her casual outfit was well-matched, with dark jeans, a yellow top, and drop earrings. The wedding is rumored to be happening this weekend in Venice as the finale of several days of celebrations. Clooney himself confirmed the city where the two would be married at an event this month in Italy.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Clooney’s mom had been considering what to give the couple for a wedding gift. Presumably, the pair want for nothing, and both have records of human rights achievements. Clooney’s mother, Nina, was mulling over the possibility of a charitable donation.
The Mirror reported today, however, that Nina and Nick, Clooney’s father, opted for something more personal. According to a source, they wanted Amal to know she is welcome in their mansion in Augusta, Kentucky.
“Nina and George’s dad Nick have been racking their brains over what to get Amal for the wedding. They wanted it to have a lot of meaning and they know how important family is to Amal, so they are giving her a key to their home. It’s a beautiful house called The River House and it is well loved by all the family. Amal is absolutely delighted as she thinks it is beautiful.”
As for what the bride will wear on the big day, the Daily Mail is quoting the most recent reports that Amal will opt for a piece by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Burton also designed the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress for her marriage to Prince William. Speculation that Alamuddin would wear McQueen has been heightened since she was seen leaving the design house a few weeks ago. Other reports had insisted she might wear Oscar de la Renta.
This will be the second marriage for Clooney, 53, who was once married to Talia Balsam. His surprise engagement to Alamuddin this Spring put to rest Clooney’s assertions he would never again walk down the aisle.
