Hero Mom Saves Her 6 Month Old Daughter With Her Dying Breath

Jessica Arrendale, 32, is now known as a hero for saving the life of her 6-month-old daughter.

It all started Saturday night when Jessica and the baby’s father, 30-year-old Antoine Davis, went out together for the night. Unfortunately, Antoine Davis is a known abusive drunk, and that night he got extremely intoxicated.

Jessica’s mother, Teresa Ionniello, tells WSB the story of how her daughter died and how her grand-daughter survived.

Once Davis and Arrendale both reached home, Davis began abusing her and followed her all the way to the top story of their home.

Ionniello tells WSB that “Arrendale tried to defend herself with a baseball bat, but she was overpowered by the former serviceman, who struck her several times with the bat.”

Their 6-month-old daughter, Cobie, may have also been struck with a bat several times since she received sever head trauma. Arrendale then proceeded to lock her baby and herself in the bathroom. But Davis got an assault rifle with a silencer and burst open the bathroom door.

Ionniello said, “He burst into the bathroom and, while Arrendale was still holding Cobie in her arms, shot the young mother in the head. He shot her and they (police) don’t know how she was able to twist her body and fall literally in the opposite direction.”

According to Ionniello, Arrendale then fell over the toilet bowl while simultaneously dropping her daughter there instead of falling straight to the ground like she should have.

Ionniello added, “She had pure will. She wanted that baby to live.”

Ionniello believed that Antoine Davis was planning on killing both Cobie and her mom. But since Jessica Arrendale was able to fall over the toilet bowl and drop the baby inside, Davis was unable to see the baby since the top of the bowl was covered by Arrendale’s body. Antoine Davis then went to the baby’s room, and after he was unable to find the child, he shot himself.

At first, the police officers dealt with it as a hostage situation by sending a robot inside, but the robot was stuck on the stairs. The baby was left in the toilet for over 13 hours before the police officers decided that it was safe to enter the home.

This isn’t the only case of domestic abuse in the news recently. According to The Inquisitr, Adrian Peterson is not allowed to see his son because of abuse allegations.

Cobie is now being treated in Children’s Health Care of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital for trauma and hypothermia.
