‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: Charles Dance May Be Returning For Season 5 As Tywin Lannister? [Video]

Spoilers alert! Do not keep reading if you have not completed Season 4 and do not want to hear spoilers from that season.

Charles Dance dropped a bomb when speaking with MTV UK in an interview. Dance, who plays the sinister patriarch of the Lannister family, Tywin Lannister, was in a precarious situation last time we saw him at the end of Season 4. In fact, he was sitting on a toilet shot by a crossbow manned by his own son. Therefore, many assumed that was the last we would see of Tywin.

However, Dance has hinted that the patriarch may not have said his peace on the show. HitFlix notes that when Dance was asked, “Are you sad to be missing the next series of ‘Game of Thrones,'” Dance grinned and made a surprising reply.

“Well, I’m not completely missing out on the next series. More than that I’m not going to say, You haven’t seen the last of Tywin Lannister, is all I’ll say.”

Did Tywin survive the fatal-appearing crossbow shot? Will he only be alive a brief period to point the finger at his son as the culprit? Will the character be back to haunt other characters in some fashion? Will the upcoming series feature flashbacks that include Dance?

The web is abuzz with speculation, but it appears we will just have to wait for Season 5 to find out, because Dance isn’t saying anymore. Sadly, Season 5 of Game of Thrones will not appear again on-screen until April of 2015. Therefore, it seems that Game of Thrones fans have quite some time to ponder the situation.

What do you think? Did Tywin Lannister survive the blow, or do you see Dance being used in some other fashion such as flashbacks?
