Publisher Accidentally Places Porn Star On Math Textbook
When it comes to education in general in the United States, the biggest subject that is splitting the teaching staff down the middle in the implementation of common core. The Inquisitr reported numerous times on common core, which includes its implementation in physical education as well as sex education (much to the disdain of parents). However, not every piece of news about education is on how it is getting better or worse, or even remaining stagnant. Sometimes, certain situations in education are just accidents.
In that regard, there are now reports of a school textbook that had to be reprinted. The reason: The woman on the cover, who is supposed to represent a teacher, is actually a porn star in reality. As a mater of fact, the image used was a promo pictures from one of her pornographic films.
Originally reported by Thiaich but translated by Rocket News 24, the Thai math textbook titled Basic Mathematics is under fire for sourcing an image of a Japanese adult video star.
MuangThaiBook, the publisher, made the math book as vibrant as possible using a lot of neon colors. There are also a lot of math-related images, such a bar and pie graphs, used along with teachers grinning at the camera while concentrating on equations. Finally, a female teacher scanning a mathematics binder is dominantly displayed on the front. The only problem with the female teacher is the fact that she is Mana Aoki, a famous adult video actress and idol in Japan.
The Daily Dot followed up on the report, adding that Twitter user T3Three (spelled in characters of a foreign language) was the first to point out the similarities in a tweet that quickly when viral on Thai Twitter. Because there is a provocative picture of Mana Aoki showcasing her butt, the tweet cannot be included within this article.
