Bethany Mota and Derek Hough will be competing during Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars, and fans cannot wait to see them get started. They will be dancing the jive when the new season debuts Monday night on ABC. Though traditional DWTS viewers may not yet be familiar with Bethany, her millions of “Motavators” are thrilled with the path her life is taking these days. Not only is Bethany doing DWTS, she’s on the cover of the next issue of Seventeen magazine.
Mota may just be 18, but she’s no newbie to the scene. Bethany started her YouTube channel at the age of 13 and it has taken off — and then some. As Seventeen notes, Mota started doing beauty videos where she’d try to act like she was perfect, but she quickly realized that being herself was more fun. She started keeping bloopers in the videos and showing off her fun side, which resonated with viewers.
Dancing with the Stars shared the introduction video for Bethany and Derek on YouTube, and fans will love it. They have dubbed themselves “Team Motough,” and they didn’t waste any time throwing themselves into some practicing. It looks like they are bonding well, and all of the photos they are sharing on social media make it seem that they are working hard and making a great connection. However, it also seems that Bethany has had quite a few appearances scheduled as rehearsals take place, which means practicing on the go.
Fans tensed up when they saw a tweet from Bethany Thursday indicating she wasn’t feeling well, but she soon issued an update that she was back in Los Angeles and feeling much better. The clips and photos posted by these two and the show indicate that Team Motough is planning to have a lot of fun this season, and Derek and Bethany could make for one dynamic duo. Here’s the challenge: Bethany has millions of fans following her on YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, but will the Motavators tune in to DWTS and make the effort to vote? It will be interesting to find out.
The competition is stacking up to be pretty fierce this season, with other stars like Janel Parrish from Pretty Little Liars, Alfonso Ribeiro from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson all garnering a great deal of buzz too. This is clearly a pretty magical time for Bethany, as she has a lot of fantastic projects and opportunities coming her way. Will Derek Hough and Bethany Mota be able to translate her YouTube success to DWTS votes? Fans will find out beginning on Monday. Bethany Mota’s issue of Seventeen hits newsstands on Tuesday, September 16.
