Nicki Minaj’s ‘The Pink Print’ Drops On Black Friday

Update: Although Billboard claims the album is presently slated for November 28 — that’s Black Friday to the layperson — a rep for Nicki Minaj attempted to squash those rumors. Did the publication let the proverbial cat out of the bag too soon?

Original Article: Nicki Minaj has finally revealed the release date for The Pink Print.

After months and months of endless speculation, the rapper’s upcoming studio album is finally headed to retail shelves. Unfortunately for those who plan to pick up a physical copy of the record on day one, they’ll have to wade through hordes of rabid shoppers to acquire Minaj’s latest opus. In short: It’s not a surprise release, but it’s just as clever.

According to HotNewHipHop, Nicki Minaj plans to drop The Pink Print on November 28. That’s right, hip-hop fans — Black Friday. In other words, you’re going to have to elbow your way past bargain shoppers and deal hunters to snag a copy in-store. Our advice: Pre-order your copy from an online retailer and let someone else bring it to you. After all, that’s what the internet age is all about. And cat videos, of course.

The release date is genius, really. Millions of people will no doubt flock to countless brick-and-mortar retailers on Black Friday to snag gifts for the holiday season. As soon as they see the oversized Nicki Minaj display loaded with her latest album, they’ll step on a small child to ensure they get a copy for themselves or that special someone.

The audience is already there, but the Black Friday release date ensures they’ll be in-store during its first day on retail shelves.

Of course, Nicki isn’t the only rapper plotting to separate fans from their hard-earned cash on November 28. The Inquisitr previously reported that Eminem’s latest opus is also tentatively slated to arrive on the aforementioned date. However, this writer will simply wait for UPS to drop both albums off on his doorstep, thank you very much.

Nicki Minaj and Eminem aren’t the only notable artists releasing records before the end of the year. According to Billboard, Nick Jonas, Lil Wayne, Pink Floyd, Taylor Swift, and the Foo Fighters are among the plethora of musicians who plan to take the world by storm before 2014 wraps up.
