Calvin Harris Teases New Single On Instagram [Listen]

Calvin Harris apparently put together some new music, a tune that he recently teased with an extremely brief Instagram video.

In this day and age, musicians really don’t need PR people to generate buzz about their music. Instead of getting someone else to spread the good word, artists need only to set up a social media account and wait for the followers to trickle in. Harris seems to understand this concept, as he recently introduced his latest song on Instagram.

According to Radio.com, the DJ debuted 15 seconds of his new tune “Blame” on the aforementioned platform. Although it’s hard to gauge anything in that length of time, it would appear that folks are pretty excited to get their hands on the real thing.

When Harris teases new music, people tend to listen. After all, Calvin is the highest-paid DJ in the world at the moment. The only person who comes close to matching his income is David Guetta, and he’s still $30 million behind Harris. According to Forbes, Calvin made an astonishing $60 million during the publication’s “scoring period.”

Here’s what Forbes had to say about the DJ’s success:

“Born Adam Richard Wiles, the former grocery store stocker earned $66 million in our scoring period, playing more than 125 gigs. He’s found great success in the pop world, working with the likes of Rihanna and Kesha, which has helped him land headline gigs not only at EDM-focused events but also at festivals like Coachella. Harris continues to play regularly in Las Vegas where he has a multi-year deal at America’s biggest nightclub, Hakkasan.”

Of course, everything isn’t wine and roses in Calvin Harris’ life at the moment. Although he’s got a ton of money at his disposal, his love life has hit a pretty rocky patch. In fact, Harris and Rita Ora’s split was so nasty that he banned her from performing a few of their collaborations at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards.

Since people were kind of irritated about the situation, Harris attempted to defend his decision on Twitter.

“You’ll only know [one] side of the story [regarding the] Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk about every aspect of my personal life. But just know I had a damn good reason.”
