Salahi divorce: Tareq splits up with Michaele

After weaseling their way into a White House party in late 2009, Tareq and Michaele Salahi were making headlines all across America. Now they’re back in the headlines again, but most likely not in the way that at least one of them would have wanted.

In light of certain recent events, Tareq Salahi filed for divorce in Warren County, VA on Friday, after nearly eight years of marriage to Michaele.

“She continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused…me to suffer great harm, humiliation and embarrassment,” said Tareq Salahi in court documents picked up by TMZ.

The messy situation that led to the divorce started earlier this week. On Tuesday, Tareq feared that his wife had been kidnapped after he received a phone call from Michaele from an Oregon area code.

“She wasn’t being herself as if somebody was standing over her as if somebody was right there so something was wrong, I could tell,” Tareq said.

As it turned out, though, the situation wasn’t quite as sinister as that; Michaele had skipped out on Tareq to be with Journey guitarist Neal Schon who, according to Cirque du Solahi author Diane Diamond, was “one of the loves of her life”.

According to a report from TMZ, Tareq has since changed the locks on the family’s homestead and winery. On the flip side, security on the Journey tour were reportedly told to not allow Tareq back stage.

Not like security has stopped either of them from doing what they want in the past..
