On The Run Tour Trailer: The Footage is Great – But What Beyoncé Sings Will Shock You!

The first official trailer for the On The Run Tour HBO concert special featuring Beyoncé and Jay-Z was released online Saturday.

The complete trailer is not very long at all – lasting only 51 seconds in length. Within that short span of time, though, there is a considerable amount of concert footage revealed in a quick montage that will captivate the attention of Beyoncé and Jay-Z fans almost immediately. However, that is not the part of this On The Run Tour trailer that people are going to be talking about for weeks to come. Not at all!

The part that will leave you speechless is at the very beginning of the trailer when Beyoncé covers the hit Cher song, “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” originally released in 1966. In the black-and-white clip with a 1960s vintage lounge bar setting, Beyoncé sings:

I was five and you were six. We rode on horses made of sticks. I wore black, you wore white. You would always win the fight

If that is not enough to give you chills, wait for the moment when Beyoncé flashes an evil grin in Jay-Z’s direction. Beyoncé then uses her hand as a gun aimed directly at Jay-Z’s head as he sits back and puffs on a cigar.

What’s with the gun, Beyoncé?

With footage like this, it is very difficult to forget about the speculation that has been circulating for months now about their marital (and extramarital) problems. Recent rumors and unconfirmed reports claim that Beyoncé and Jay-Z will actually be getting a divorce to end their marriage as soon as the On The Run Tour comes to an end.

Whether that is true or not obviously does not matter right now, because Beyoncé and Jay-Z are clearly using every opportunity they can to promote the On The Run Tour like there is no tomorrow – which could present a little bit of foreshadowing by itself.

Many fans have already seen the On The Run tour live in person. However, millions of people around the world are eagerly anticipating the September 20th debut of the On The Run Tour HBO concert special so that they can finally have the best seat in the house – up close and personal through their home televisions.

The On The Run Tour concert special will actually feature a compilation of footage from the upcoming Paris leg of this Beyoncé and Jay-Z tour currently scheduled for September 12 and 13. Hopefully, Beyoncé and Jay-Z will be able to keep it together at least until then – especially if the rumors circulating about their pending divorce have any truth to them. Perhaps this On The Run Tour concert special will represent the swan song of their relationship.

What do you think?
