‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Hulkbuster Battle Will Be Emotionally Charged

Age of Ultron, the upcoming sequel to The Avengers, will pit Marvel favorites Iron Man and the Hulk against each other in a highly anticipated battle that will debut Tony Stark’s Hulkbuster armor, yet the most interesting part of the brawl may be the reasons behind it.

The fight scene, which promises to be epic in scope, has stirred fan fervor ever since it was filmed in Johannesburg, as Enstars reports. Images of Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armor spread across the internet, and fans were reportedly left in a “pandemonium” at San Diego Comic-Con when footage was screened by Marvel President Kevin Feige. Though that clip of the Hulkbuster scene was actually just concept art, as CinemaBlend notes, the most compelling part of the fight may be its emotional content, according to the actors involved.

“It can’t just be a good fight, it’s gotta be about something,” said Avengers lead Robert Downey Jr., according to HitFix. “And the great thing in ‘Age of Ultron‘ is, that fight between [the Hulk and Tony Stark] is, nobody wins when two people who are friends fight.”

“It’s, oddly enough, a much bigger movie than Avengers One was,” added Mark Ruffalo, who portrays the Hulk. “It’s a little bit darker. It’s – we get a lot deeper into the character now, since we established them in the first one, so we get to cover a lot more ground. Ultron’s incredible. There’s more stuff with Banner and Tony Stark, more ‘Science Bros’ stuff. And it’s pretty sweeping, it’s pretty epic,” he added, according to Bustle.

As The Inquisitr has previously reported, there are a number of theories surrounding why Tony Stark will utilize the Hulkbuster armor in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Though the reasons behind the fight remain unclear, it will reportedly lead to a great deal of cinematic destruction in the South African city, revealed by pre-CGI set footage.

Whatever the reasons for the internecine conflict, the Hulkbuster scene is already shaping up to be a centerpiece of Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
