Lana Del Rey Postpones First Concert In Israel Due To Violence


Lana Del Rey was forced to postpone her first ever concert in Israel as a result of the ongoing battle between Israeli forces and Hamas fighters in Gaza.

According to MTV, Lana Del Rey was scheduled to perform at Tel Aviv’s Exhibition Ground on August 20, but has decided to put the concert on hold due to all the violence in the area. While Del Rey’s rep has yet to confirm this news, her opening act, Max Jury took to twitter to confirm the news Friday morning:

According to Billboard, Lana Del Rey is currently on tour in support of her latest album, Ultraviolence, which reportedly topped the Billboard 200 in June, “selling 182,00 copies its first week.” Del Rey joins a long list of artist who have chosen to cancel shows in Israel due to the ongoing violence:

“This week, Cee Lo Green and Megadeth called off their shows, following cancellations by Neil Young, America, Kansas, Paul Anka and the Backstreet Boys,” reported Billboard.

After the postponement was announced, one fan took to Lana Del Rey’s site to ask her to come to Isreal:

“Lana, please come to Israel,” writes Joseph Brenner. “We love you here, don’t disappoint us, don’t be effected by some people who got hates in their head, please, i would like to see you here, we got here beautiful country with good people, and besides, if to die somewhere, it’s in the holy land… :)… just joking a bit, cause we are all under pressure here, with this Hamas terrorists.”
