Chris Martin Dishes On Gwyneth In New Interview – “There’s Still A Lot Of Love”
Chris Martin, the frontman for the band Coldplay and estranged husband of Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow, was interviewed by the radio show Valentine in the Morning on Friday and made some interesting remarks about his wife, according to US Magazine.
Although Chris Martin seems to have finally come to terms with his split from the GOOP goddess, he expressed discomfort in talking about ending his eleven-year marriage.
“The truth is – well, I don’t really love talking about this stuff. But the thing we told everyone at the beginning of the year is true. We are very close, we are not together. But we’re… you know… that’s the truth… and uh, that’s it. You know, there’s a lot of love. So there’s nothing – there’s no scandal I’m afraid. I wish I could give you a scandal.”
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow split last March when Paltrow announced their “conscious uncoupling.” Since then, the two have remained extremely amicable. Martin and Paltrow have been seen several times together with their daughter, Apple, and their son, Moses. In fact, just last week Chris and Gwyneth were seen having lunch in Montauk, New York at Joni’s Kitchen according to the Daily Mail. Casually dressed, the uncoupled couple ate at a picnic table and followed lunch with a leisurely stroll down the beach.
The amount of time Chris Martin and Paltrow spend together only seems to fuel rumors of – dare we say it – a “conscious recoupling.” The Inquisitr reported earlier this month about the couple spending time together in the Hamptons looking “anything but divorced.” Chris and Gwyneth clearly want to keep things normal as possible for the sake of their children, but the affinity Martin and Paltrow have for each other clearly leads everyone to question their breakup.
Just last month, Peoplequoted a friend of the couple saying, “They haven’t made any concrete decision to get back together yet, but clearly it’s a possibility.”
Judging from Chris Martin’s comments a few days ago, that statement may have been premature. However, the stilted language Chris used in the interview might suggest that he is unsure about how to respond to questions about Paltrow and Martin’s relationship.
According to People, another source said of the couple:
“Gwyneth didn’t want to end the marriage and is happy that she and Chris still have a close relationship. He’s been a great father and that has helped keep the flame alive. They clearly love each other and always will, and if the romance comes back, they’ll go with it if it feels right.”
We’ll all just have to wait and see. For the moment, the only ones who seem to really know the solid scoop are Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
