For months now the buzz regarding The Bachelor 2015 has been that Chris Soules would get the spot. Now, however, the name of Arie Luyendyk Jr. is being bandied about. Could this fan favorite snag the opportunity?
Radar Online shares that Arie Luyendyk Jr. is talking with producers about possibly being The Bachelor 2015. This is not an entirely new concept, as Arie’s name has been tossed around more than once regarding the possibility of a return to reality TV. It had been teased that he would be on Bachelor in Paradise this summer too, then that didn’t end up happening.
Franchise fans will remember that Arie came in second in Emily Maynard’s season, with Jef Holm scoring the final rose. Arie then went on to briefly date Courtney Robertson for a bit after her engagement with The Bachelor Ben Flajnik ended. Arie was at Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici’s wedding earlier this year, and he has been live-tweeting throughout this current season of The Bachelorette 2014 with Andi Dorfman. So, he is definitely still in the mix of things with the franchise.
For months gossip guru Reality Steve has said that The Bachelor 2015 spot is Chris Soules’ if he wants it. Some fans had been clamoring for Marquel Martin to get the gig, and Steve kept saying he was hearing Chris. Has that changed? It seems it may well have. Now Reality Steve tweeted that he has heard the rumors regarding Luyendyk and “From what I hear it’s down to those 2 & they’re still deciding.”
Radar Online claims that those with the show are flying Soules out to Los Angeles this weekend to meet with them, but that producers have already been taking some steps to prepare Luyendyk for the gig. Supposedly they have done some filming with Arie in Arizona and hired a personal trainer to work with him.
Previously Reality Steve had said, multiple times, that there was no way Arie Luyendyk Jr. would ever be The Bachelor. However, fans of Arie’s clearly still adore him and there’s already a lot of commentary online that people would love to see him be the lead this next season. Others aren’t so sure about this possibility and love the idea of Chris Soules in the spot, and of course there are other ideas floating around as well.
Do you want to see Soules handing out roses this winter? Should Arie Luyendyk Jr. be The Bachelor 2015? Something more solid regarding this one should be coming out soon, though ABC surely won’t make a formal announcement until the Bachelor in Paradise finale this fall.
