Rita Ora’s New Album Hits Snag After Split With Calvin Harris

Rita Ora’s new album might have hit a snag after her recent split with Calvin Harris.

Rita Ora was working on a new album and was receiving a lot of help from her boo. Apparently, he made a number of songs for her, enough songs that when Harris said he didn’t want her using any of his tracks, according to Irish Independent, her album was left in shambles. Heat reported around six tracks will be unusable on Ora’s next album.

“Rita’s album has hit a bit of a road block after Calvin pulled all the songs he had worked on for the project before they split. He’d made a lot of songs for her but they’re now likely to go to other artists,” an insider said.

As Harris hands out the tracks he made for Rita Ora to other singers, she too will be scrambling to fill her album back up. As of now, she’s known to have enlisted help from Prince, Diplo and Macklemore. So maybe, she’ll have an album out by September, though that’s as long as she doesn’t get to caught up with her rumored new man: Tommy Hilfiger’s son Rich.

“He doesn’t want to be linked with her, especially now she’s in a new relationship with Rich Hilfiger,” the insider said.

The last song we’ll hear from Harris and Ora will be their chart-topping “I Will Never Let You Down” — if only they knew how much they’d let fans down.

The couple got together in May 2013, and after a year, they split up. Calvin Harris made the announcement on Twitter.

A sweet and heartbreaking enough message from Calvin Harris, but he probably should have told Rita Ora, who was surprised and “mortified” by his tweet, Inquisitr reported last month.

“Rita was left embarrassed when Calvin tweeted it was all over,” a source said. “She didn’t think he was going to make the announcement, so she was shocked.”

Perhaps she should have seen that coming but couldn’t quite let go.

“Rita’s crushed by the spit, as Calvin was just about the only person in her life who would tell it to her straight. She’s belatedly realized she’s surrounded by nodding dogs, who never say no to her. With her career going from strength to strength, she reckons she needs real people around her,” the source said. “Calvin was brilliant for that but he got sick of the hangers-on and felt the relationship was going nowhere. Rita still hopes they can work it out, because there was never any great argument between them, but Calvin has been quite clear.”
