Portia De Rossi and Ellen Degeneres are probably the most talked about celebrity couple these days, with rumors flying in all directions in the media about their imminent divorce.
But, according to a report in Closer magazine, the divorce rumors are wholly untrue and the couple are actually planning to renew their wedding vows.
For over a month now the media has reported that De Rossi and DeGeneres’ relationship is on the rocks, due to cheating allegations, excessive drinking, and even secretly recorded video footage of heated arguments.
In addition to the allegations it was also reported that Portia De Rossi spent a month in rehab in her battle against alcohol addiction, The hope was that this would put her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres back on track.
It was a little strange that the media reports recently about a potential break up between De Rossi and Degeneres came at the same time that the couple were spotted happily vacationing in Croatia. This did not receive much coverage from the media because the divorce rumors were juicier.
Radar Online reported around the time of the Croatia vacation about the alleged issues between the two lovers:
“Portia hadn’t been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating [herself], and Ellen confronted her. Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn’t in love with her anymore. Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out.”
Ellen nor Portia have either confirmed or denied the divorce rumors, at least in the last month, and have remained extremely tight-lipped about the whole thing.
Although Ellen did spill the beans a bit and referred to the divorce rumors when she spoke to the Huffington Post :
“It’s so ridiculous to me. There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it. I’m very happily married. In fact, the only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more. That is all. It really is true. And we argue if we’d let a kangaroo carry us around in its pouch for a year. I would. She wouldn’t. She’ll change her mind. Who wouldn’t want to be in the pouch of a kangaroo for a year? Hopping around. And she’s like ‘no’ but anyway.”
So, according to Ellen’s own words, the divorce rumors surrounding her and Portia are completely false . But experience tells us that there’s usually no smoke without fire. Expect to see more media revelations, and more inside ” information” – read gossip – about the private lives of this celebrity couple.
