WWE News: WWE Superstar Cesaro The Favorite To Win The Intercontinental Championship At Battleground

Another Paul Heyman guy is bound to steal the show at another pay-per-view. WWE Battleground is set to take place on July 20 and since Wade Barrett gave up his title due to a separated shoulder, a battle royal will take place in order to crown the next Intercontinental champion.

Reports can confirm that Cesaro is rumored to be the next Intercontinental champion.

Cesaro appears to be the favorite to win the vacant WWE Intercontinental Title in the battle royal at this month’s Battleground pay-per-view.

It’s said that Cesaro, Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns are still three people that WWE officials still have earmarked for top spots in the company by WrestleMania 31 season.

WWE didn’t list a cap at the amount of participants in the battle royal, but here is the updated list as of Main Event:

  • Cesaro
  • Kofi Kingston
  • Damien Sandow
  • The Great Khali
  • Rob Van Dam
  • Dolph Ziggler
  • Big E
  • Ryback
  • Curtis Axel
  • Alberto Del Rio

From all of the superstars on that list, who is your favorite to win?

Disregarding the report that Cesaro is the favorite, a probable victor is Dolph Ziggler. The man puts his entire being into every match, just for WWE to look the other way. With Barrett’s injury, Ziggler became a favorite to win the Money in the Bank briefcase match last week.

The rest of the supporting cast is there to make Cesaro look good. There will be a huge spot when Cesaro must take on a behemoth inside the ring. After his huge outburst against Kingston on Raw, Cesaro is said to have found a new “aggression.” It’s always been there, but when a superstars loses a match during a commercial, that justifies the frustration tenfold.

Also included in the report was Wyatt and Reigns. Logic can tell the WWE Universe that the WWE will be dominated by those three superstars in the future. The day that John Cena finally retires will mark the reign of Roman Reigns’ adventure to his WWE title record. Yes, Reigns will break it eventually.

Wyatt is about to enter a feud that will bring out the best in both superstars. WWE did it right by having Wyatt turn monster heel again. Stop and think about the babyface characters WWE owns right now. With Bryan and Punk out of the picture for different reasons, WWE didn’t need another babyface. Having Jericho put him over as a heel is best for business.

Cesaro is set to take on a ride of a lifetime with his inevitable WWE Intercontinental title victory at Battleground. Question is; what does Heyman do with Cesaro when Brock Lesnar returns for a WWE World Heavyweight title run? He is arguable the best manager in pro wrestling history. Heyman did it with Lesnar and Punk last year.

Just like Jim Ross said many years ago about the Rock, “That blue-chipper right there.” Well, WWE owns three blue-chip prospects in the limelight.
