Billy Joel Is Officially A Hero, Rescues Woman Who Fell In East Hampton

Billy Joel is one of the most popular music artists in the the world, but it seems that the Piano Man himself is also a bit of a hero in “real life.”

Today.com reported that, on Monday, Joel was riding his motorcycle in the East Hampton area of New York, when he spotted an older woman who had fallen hard on the sidewalk.

Like something out of Batman, Billy Joel heroically sped his bike to the scene, dismounted, and assisted the poor woman.

Dressed in jeans, a baseball cap and a leather jacket, Joel then hurriedly gathered the woman’s groceries, which had fallen all over the sidewalk, and consoled her, making sure she wasn’t injured.

He then waited and assisted the paramedics giving the woman medical attention. Having walked the victim to a nearby bench, Joel reportedly comforted her and stayed with her for the duration.

It is not known at this time what caused the woman to fall. Despite the fact that the photos taken at the scene seem to suggest the woman is fine, she did take a pretty bad fall; bad enough to cause the one and only Billy Joel to come to her rescue.

Joel is performing monthly shows these days at Madison Square Garden as part of a residency. While seeing the star perform may cost you a pretty penny, it’s well worth it as he still is the best of the best!

It’s encouraging that Billy Joel did the right thing and didn’t just drive on and continue with his day. Many people, especially busy celebrities probably would have, allowing someone else to deal with it.

Wouldn’t it be great if all celebrities were as heroic as Billy Joel?
