KFC Hoax: Victoria Wilcher Will Still Get $30,000, Doctor Promises Free Plastic Surgery

The so-called KFC hoax has the family of little three-year-old Victoria Wilcher upset that the media is claiming they are lying about the circumstances of what supposedly occurred in their local KFC franchise. Despite the allegations, KFC says it will honor the commitment of $30,000, and a plastic surgeon is offering to help fix the face of the little girl.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, the original KFC hoax story included the claim that one of the local restaurants asked the family of little Victoria to leave because her appearance made others uncomfortable. Two investigations were launched, and the restaurant claimed they could find no evidence that the grandmother’s story was true. But after suffering from the cruel whiplash of having the media bite back, the family insisted the so-called KFC hoax was no hoax at all:

“I promise it’s not a hoax. I never thought any of this would blow up the way it has. The article circling the web calling this a hoax is untrue. The article itself says the investigation is not complete. It is not over until KFC releases a statement. The media outlet running this story is not connected with KFC. The family has not asked for anything. An attorney is handling all the media publicity for the family pro bono. Please do not believe untrue media. I have personally watched this family go without to provide for Victoria. They have not and would not do anything to hurt Victoria in any way.”

The reason the incident was called a hoax was because the reports claimed said surveillance videos didn’t pick up anyone of Victoria’s description at two potential KFC locations the family may have visited. Victoria’s grandmother, Kelly Mullins, also said she ordered sweet tea and mashed potatoes, and investigators could not find any receipts that included both those menu items on the day the incident allegedly occurred.

Regardless, attorney Bill Kellum says the family is standing by their story:

“Victoria’s family appreciates the actions of KFC in their investigation of this matter. They look forward to assisting KFC in what we hope will be an ongoing investigation. It is deeply disappointing that other parties have taken opportunity to attack Victoria through social and news media outlets. Victoria is an innocent child with very real physical and emotional scars. The focus of her family has always been, and will always be on Victoria and making her whole again.”

But Dr. Frank Stile believes that it does not matter whether or not the KFC hoax story is true or not. He claims these “important facts of this situation remain”:

“1. An innocent child was viciously attacked by dogs. 2. She has serious disfiguring and life changing injuries. 3. Dr. Stile and his foundation have the ability to help this little girl. 4. We are making final arrangements for her to travel to Dr. Peters in Naples, Florida to get her [a] new eye.”

What do you think about the allegations related to the KFC hoax? Do you think it’s fair for Victoria Wilcher to still receive free help due to the notoriety of this story, or do you think she should be helped regardless of what her family may or may have not done?
