Bachelorette Party Car Crash: Bride-To-Be Dies In Head-On Crash Before Wedding

A pre-bachelorette party car crash is making headline news today. According to Mail Online, the bride-to-be was killed on her way to her bachelorette party in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Collette Moreno, 26, was in the passenger’s seat of her best friend’s car when they tried to pass a truck. The car met another car head-on, however, and Moreno died from her injuries. Her best friend, and driver of the vehicle, Ashley Theobald, survived the crash.

According to the report:

“Theobald said that Moreno had started suffering from an asthma attack as they trailed a truck with heavy exhaust fumes, so she had attempted to get past it on the two-lane road. ‘We both thought it was clear and there was a hill that neither one of us saw,’ she said through tears. ‘I tried to go around and there was a truck coming and I swerved and he swerved with me.”

The bachelorette party car crash involved a 2013 Chevy Malibu (that the girls were driving in) and a 1999 Dodge Ram. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. Moreno — who was wearing a seatbelt — did not die on impact. Her best friend said that she was conscious but not responding after the collision.

Theobald explained:

“I was talking to her. She couldn’t talk back but she was nodding at me,. I didn’t know it was as bad as it was because she wasn’t physically super beaten-up.”

According to The New York Daily News, the girls were having a great time before the crash. They were listening to Taylor Swift, and even posted a selfie on Facebook (above), which is said to have been snapped just minutes before the accident. Moreno and Theobald were taken to University Hospital in Columbia. Three hours later, Moreno died. Moreno is survived by her fiance and her five-year-old son, Brayden. A fundraising site has been set up in hopes of giving Brayden a bright future. So far, over $10,000 has been raised.

The bachelorette party car crash was absolutely devastating. Moreno’s family and friends are still reeling from the heartbreaking news that she is gone. Another bachelorette party accident made news back in 2013 when a limo that a bachelorette party had been riding in caught on fire and trapped people inside. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the bride-to-be in that story was also killed on the way to her bachelorette party in San Francisco.
