Jennifer Lopez: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Is Not My Boyfriend

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Jennifer Lopez are not an item — so says J. Lo.

The actress and singer, who split with boyfriend Casper Smart this week after more than two years together, has been talking with the Dancing With The Stars pro, but said it’s nothing more than a friendship.

Jennifer Lopez was responding to a tweet sent by a radio station this week suggesting that she has already moved on to someone new.

“No I’m not. #rumors #nottrue” Lopez replied.

Jennifer Lopez has been busy promoting her latest studio album, A.K.A., which is due out later this month. She has also grown close to Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the DWTS pro who Lopez met through friend Leah Remini.

“He danced with her at the [American Music Awards last November] and they kept in touch,” a friend of the singer’s told People magazine.

Another source who knows both Maks and J. Lo added: “They are friends and have been talking.”

Jennifer Lopez just went through a very high-profile breakup with Casper Smart, including allegations that her man cheated with a transsexual model. Casper denied the rumors.

“There is no truth to any meeting or physical encounter. I am weighing my options on the appropriate action to take against Xristina Marie and/or The Sun,” he told E! News.

But others suggested that the break up was more low-key, and brought on by their differing lives.

“It wasn’t an easy decision, but they decided to stay friends,” a source told Us Weekly.“Their relationship couldn’t work with the distance. He started trying to establish his own life and career, and she is so focused on hers, and they just couldn’t be all about each other anymore.”

Jennifer Lopez is not the only one with rampant speculation regarding her love life. Maksim Chmerkovskiy has faced a barrage of rumors that he is dating his DWTS partner of the past season, Meryl Davis. Sources claim that the two are just friends — very close friends.
