WWE News: Promotion For ‘Father’s Day’ Has Superstars Give Public Show Of Affection To Their Kids

Despite the negative feelings the WWE Universe has about the company recently, there are some admirable things the WWE does that simply appeals to the good deep within all of us. Earlier this year, The Inquisitr reported how they made the dreams of an amazing little boy, who was dying from cancer, come true. So it isn’t rare for the WWE to do something wholesome among the terrible decisions they have made over the years, especially the last three to four months.

Now the WWE is doing something admirable again as they team up with the Ad Council and the US Department of Health and Human Services. Their plan is to launch a Public Service Campaign on the importance of being a dad. Just in time for Father’s Day, too! The behind the scenes video was first uploaded on the WWE Community website, and it features Alberto Del Rio, Titus O’Neil, and Roman Reigns of The Shield. It is quite amazing to see WWE superstars, who play wrestlers with aggressive personalities and pompous attitudes, express their fatherly attitude in front of their children. That is another thing that should be added, too. The children are not fill-in actors. The kids seen in the video are the WWE superstars’ kids.

In another article by Cageside Seats, the official press release was given. Parts of it are kind of saddening, especially with the facts showing that the United States is becoming a fatherless nation.

“A majority of dads in the U.S., seven out of ten, recently reported that they could use tips on how to be a better parent, according to a national survey conducted by the Ad Council. In advance of Father’s Day, WWE Superstars are inspiring dads throughout the country to get more involved in their children’s lives. WWE is joining the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families’ Office of Family Assistance, the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse, and the Ad Council to launch a new series of public service advertisements (PSAs) that encourage dads to recognize their critical role and give them the tools to help get more involved.”

Sadness aside, it is something just to see WWE superstars interact with their children, especially Roman Reigns – the man known for Superman punches and spearing people through barricades – do “I’m A Little Teapot” with his daughter. The underlying hope within this campaign is that more fathers would step up and be fathers. No matter what anyone says, any human male can have kids, but it takes a real man to be a father. So kudos to you, WWE, for helping the cause.
