Miranda Lambert’s plane made an emergency landing Tuesday night. The plane was flying from New York on its way to Nashville when it had to be diverted to West Virginia.
According to Wonderwall, Lambert’s plane lost pressure and it delayed travel by about three hours. She and the others with her were held up at North Central West Virginia Airport in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Miranda and her group had fun with the whole thing by donning some “platinum” HAZMAT suits. Some firefighters were at the airport and gave all of them suits to kill time. A photo was posted on Instagram with the following caption:
“Our plane had an emergency landing in Clarksburg WV. But don’t worry, we found platinum fire suits. Yes!”
The Tennesseean confirms the story from Mirana’s publicist, Wes Vause. He laughingly said:
“All in all, it was a pretty good day.”
Everyone took the emergency landing in stride and didn’t panic. In the above Instagram photo, everyone remained all smiles until it was time to board the plane.
In the end, everything was good and the plane was back on its way to Smyrna Airport by 7 pm, Central Time.
Miranda has a full schedule promoting her new Platinum album and performing. She’s giving numerous interviews about her music and what it’s like for her being in the tabloids. Rumors that her marriage to Blake Shelton is in trouble — or that she’s expecting a baby — persist. The 30-year-old is taking a page out of Shelton’s playbook by trying to shrug it off. She struggled with it for a while, but is mastering the strategy of ignoring the nonstop reports about their personal lives.
FOX News reports that when Lambert returns home sometime next week from all of her traveling, her husband plans to make her break relaxing. They own a boat on Lake Texoma. Blake says:
“I’m not a mechanic, but I managed to get this thing running because I know when she gets back she’s going to want to do something like that. She’s going to want to just go float around and drink or be pulled on a tube, something like that. So I figured I’d get me some points here and get the boat running. I’m actually proud of myself.”
Miranda Lamber will perform at the CMT Music Awards Wednesday and again at the CMA Music Festival at LP Field Friday night.
