Iggy Azalea Hands Out Some Advice To Internet Trolls

Iggy Azalea is the latest celebrity to personally deal with haters online.

Sometimes trying to find the good in social media is difficult. While some people use it to spread breaking news or raise awareness for important causes, others are content to pick on their fellow human beings. Even celebrities aren’t immune to the trolls who spend countless hours causing trouble online.

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is reportedly fed up with the hate she’s received as of late. According to Perez Hilton, she recently took a moment to address the sort of nastiness people throw at her on a fairly regular basis. Not surprisingly, Azalea is completely fed up with how these troublemakers treat her on Twitter.

She Knows reports that Iggy Azalea’s decision to shut down her detractors was reportedly prompted by the reported “beef” between her and Nicki Minaj. The whole thing started with a Forbes article that essentially declared her the new queen of hip-hop, something that didn’t settle well with Minaj. When fans started discussing the situation online, it eventually caught Iggy’s attention. In short: she’s fed up with the ugliness.

“Just remember while your [sic] all at home online cracking jokes about artists etc. that Most of you have done NOTHING. NOTHING! With your lives. So many of you Internet kids quote the feats of others as if they were your own,” Azalea wrote.

She continued, “And just to clarify for anyone who didn’t understand that last statement goes out to people who bully others… Someone who’s [sic] music you love doing great should never be an excuse to be awful to others. That’s my point I suppose,” she added. “I just find it really disgusting.”

Instead of simply smacking the haters around with a virtual belt, Iggy Azalea also took a moment to offer up some free advice. Instead of using all of their time and energy to post mean-spirited comments, the rapper hopes folks will start focusing on the positive. Whether these thoughtful words will have any effect is still very much up in the air.

“Don’t be cruel to one another. And learn to understand how much work it takes to achieve anything in life. Success should be celebrated and not used as an excuse to be awful to others, especially when it’s not even your own. That was my point,” she wrote.

What do you think about Iggy Azalea addressing online bullies? Do you feel celebrities should ignore the hate or face them head-on?
