Shona Carter-Brooks: Bride Dragged Baby On Wedding Dress

Tennessee bride Shona Carter-Brooks is pushing back at critics after she came under fire for reportedly dragging her 4-week-old baby girl down the aisle on the train of her wedding dress.

Carter-Brooks, who tied the knot with hubby Johnathan Brooks last weekend, somehow managed to attach the infant to the back of her Vera Wang wedding dress, and proceeded to drag the girl behind her on her way to the altar. The ceremony took place at the Elam Baptist Church in Ripley, Tennessee. Images of the bride and her daughter quickly went viral across the internet, generating somewhat predictable responses.

Shona Carter-Brooks and her husband, Jonathan, are facing criticism after their wedding ceremony.

Carter-Brooks claimed that baby Aubrey was fine, saying that the girl was “covered by Christ.” That didn’t stop some internet commentators, however, from labeling the bride and her husband as “dumb,” amongst other things. “That poor child,” wrote one commentator quoted by the New York Daily News, “born to 2 supreme idiots.”

No video from the wedding has yet surfaced, so it is unclear how quickly the baby was dragged behind the bride. No injuries to the child have been reported as a result of the incident. Carter-Brooks took to Facebook to defend herself, lashing out in a series of messages that were reported by News.com.au:

“People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most.”

“We good though we covered by the Blood which never loose (sic) its power.

“So to the media, radio, news, and whomever else wanting to talk about what WE do here you go:

“Media Media I see how it works regardless the situation or purpose people gone (sic) have something negative to say!

“The answer is we do what we want, when we want, as long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gona (sic) continue to be fine.”

Carter-Brooks continued to defend herself through a series of Facebook posts, saying: “The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine.”

Media attention aside, Carter-Brooks is far from the first person to find herself in trouble on Facebook over wedding photos. As The Inquisitr recently reported, a pair of Valley Forge wedding crashers apologized via the social media site after they were caught on video enjoying a ceremony they weren’t invited to.

Taking to Facebook to say: “Thank God we aint no celebrities oops got fans, guess we is!” Shona Carter-Brooks, for her part, seems to be unfazed by the attention her turn as a bride is generating.
