The highly anticipated LG G3 smartphone has been given a tentative release date of July 1 for the United Kingdom and sometime soon after for the United States. It already got released in South Korea today (May 28, 2014), but all other 170 countries expected to feature it will have to wait through the summer for their turn, reports TechRadar.
Who Will Carry The LG G3?
AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have all confirmed their plans to release the non-waterproof G3 sometime this summer. There is also talk that U.S. Cellular might release it, though to date, this rumor is unconfirmed. However, given the G3′s incredible capabilities, it would be quite shocking if any major U.S. brand chose to not release it.
On What Date Will It Be Available?
The LG G3 is expected to go up for sale in Best Buy outlets on the same date that the major U.S. carriers put it up for sale. If you are intent on buying it upon its release, we recommend you start early by printing directions. Why? Frankly, we expect there to be a huge rush once it is released.
Why Is The LG G3 So Much Better Than The LG G2?
The LG G3 upgrades from a 5.2 inch to 5.5 inch display with an enhanced 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. According to a review by TrustedReviews, this makes its screen equivalent to four 720p screens. It maintains the same 13MP camera but upgrades the flash to dual LED. The quad-core processor is upped from 2260 MHz to 2500 MHz. The onboard storage remains at 32 GB, but you get the added luxury of microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC support up to 128 GB.
What Are Some Of Its Other Features?
The LG G3 will house the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and be available in multiple colors: white, gold, violet, red and black. Furthermore, it’ll have two cameras (a standard feature these days). It will also come with battery optimization controls like adaptive optimization, CPU clocking and timing control. According to PhoneArena, these give the unit a battery life of close to 8 hours.
Are Any Other Devices Coming Out Soon?
Yep! The Samsng Galaxy S5 Prime gets released in June and – wait for it – the iPhone 6 drops on some yet unknown date in the fall. This will indeed be a very, very exciting summer for mobile phone enthusiasts, right? The only question is whether their specs will be better than those of the LG!
