Mick Jagger Gets His Own Awfully Creepy Wax Statue

What do you get when you put legendary Rolling Stones rock star Mick Jagger with a huge team of extremely talented but zany artists? An extraordinarily creepy Mick Jagger wax statue, of course! And that is in fact exactly what a band of sculptors, wig makers, hairdressers, stylists and molders (among others) at the Grévin Museum have created!

According to NBC News, the artisans made the Mick Jagger statue in celebration of the May 1 grand opening of the museum’s newest branch in Prague. The Musée Grévin, as it is officially known, also operates two other branches – the original Paris branch, which has been in operation since 1882 (and where the statue was prepared before it was shipped to Prague), and a Montreal branch that just opened in 2013.

Regardless, the Jagger statue is one of 80 total wax statues now available for your viewing pleasure at the museum. A full tour through the facility is bound to also put you face-to-face with the likes of Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Elvis Presley, Andy Warhol, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Chaplan, Mahatma Gandhi and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to name a few. However, the majority of the statues depict notable Czech personalities like Roman Emperor Charles IV, former President Vaclav Havel, world-renowned runner Emil Zátopek and pop singer Karel Gott. Unfortunately, none of the very still wax souls are apt to give you an autograph.

What’s ironic is that the new facility is located on the exact same street as the competing Wax Museum Prague. Even more ironic (and rather amusing) is that both galleries have a wax Brad Pitt. Which wax statue is more handsome? Well, we’ll leave that up to you to decide!

Speaking of which, if you happen to be in the area, we definitely recommend you stop by and have a hearty look at ol’ Mick Jagger. You can even get an equally creepy and awkward virtual 3D wax model of yourself made, if you would like. The Grévin is open from 10am to 7pm daily and tickets cost only 430 Czech crowns, which is equivalent to about $21.50. Or if you’re tight on money, stop by the Wax Museum Prague instead, as it charges only 160 crowns ($8). Mind you, it doesn’t have a wax Mick Jagger, so why even bother!?

And oh, below is a subtitled pre-launch video brought to you courtesy of the Grévin staff themselves. Be sure to check it out!
