See NFL Rookie Teddy Bridgewater Make Good On A Long-Promised Pink Cadillac For His Cancer-Surviving Mother
Teddy Bridgewater is on the verge of being drafted to play in the NFL — a life-long dream for him. However, another long-time dream for Bridgewater came true this week when he gave his mother a pink Cadillac Escalade.
An athlete on the verge of riches giving something to his mom is nothing new, but Bridgewater’s story is especially touching given the fact that he made the promise to his mother to buy her the car when he was only 9 years old. The promise took even more significance when she was diagnosed with cancer when Teddy was 14.
We dare you to watch this video of Teddy Bridgewater finally making good on his promise and giving his mother the pink Cadillac Escalade without getting a lump in your throat.
In case you don’t want to watch the full video (though you definitely should), you can scroll to the 5:55 mark to see Teddy Bridgewater make good on his promise and give his mother a pink Cadillac Escalade.
However, there is a lot more to this story than simply Teddy giving his mom a car.
As the story goes, Teddy apparently was driving home with his mother one day when he told her that he would buy her a pink Cadillac Escalade with pink rims when he made it to the NFL. His mother, Rose, certainly appreciated the gesture, but wasn’t holding her breath.
In fact, a few years later, the pink Cadillac took a back seat to more pressing concerns — specifically the fact that Rose had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Bridgewater actually considered giving up on football to stay at home at help out his mother as she underwent treatments, but she insisted that Teddy continue to play.
Bridgewater has shown his mother that her support was appreciated. Teddy is likely to be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft and is able to now do things for her — like buying pink Cadillac Escalades.
This story has really resonated with people thanks to Rose’s resilience, Bridgewater’s promise, and the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday.
