EA teases Mirror’s Edge follow-up

In a recent interview with German gaming magazine GameStar, the same interview that EA Games Europe boss Patrick Söderlund told the publication that DICE has no plans to create mod tools for Battlefield 3, Söderlund teased the future of the Mirror’s Edge series.

“We have not abandoned the franchise,” Söderlund told GameStar. “And, you know, we are working on something — but I’m not willing to talk more about that.”

The original Mirror’s Edge may not have sold a great number of copies, but I personally felt it was one of the most refreshing and innovative titles to come out in recent memory. It was certainly not without its flaws – like the frustrating combat system, for example – but it offered heaps of fun and it showed that there’s still plenty of room for creativity in the industry.

In other words, I can’t wait to hear more about Mirror’s Edge 2.
