Austin Mahone Steamed That Selena Gomez Unfollowed Him On Instagram
Austin Mahone isn’t too thrilled that he has one less follower on Instagram.
In case you haven’t heard, Selena Gomez decided to toss out all of her friends on the photo-sharing service. Unfortunately for Mahone, he was among the handful of famous faces who didn’t make the cut. Austin was apparently quite irritated by the situation, a fact that recently bubbled to the surface during an interview.
According to J-14, Austin Mahone wasn’t at all happy that his rumored love interest decided to ditch him on Instagram. In fact, the “Mmm Yeah” singer was more than a little heated that Selena kicked him to the social media curb.
“I was like, ‘I wonder if Selena’s still following me,’ so I looked and then I saw she was following zero people, so I was like, ‘Alright, I see how it is,'” Austin Mahone exclusively told the website.
To be perfectly fair, Mahone wasn’t the only celebrity who received the proverbial boot. The Inquisitr previously reported that Gomez also unfollowed Taylor Swift, Vanessa Hudgens, Reese Witherspoon, Ashley Benson, and Justin Bieber. She cut loose Kylie and Kendall Jenner as well, which knocked the people she officially follows down to zero.
Austin Mahone’s anger towards Selena Gomez may have something to do with their rumored relationship. The “Banga Banga” singer and the Spring Breakers star reportedly spent some time together earlier this year, though both parties shot down these rumors before they spiraled completely out of control.
“[Mahone and Gomez] had just gotten off of Space Mountain and were heading towards the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. The group was having fun, laughing and dancing a bit,” an anonymous source said about their trip to a certain Disney theme park.
Another insider added, “They’re really good friends and have a lot of fun together.”
When the folks at E! Online asked Austin Mahone about the rumored romance, the singer flatly denied that there was anything remotely mushy was taking place. He explained, “We’re just close friends. She’s awesome. Very talented, sweet girl.”
Mahone added, “It’s pretty crazy. Like I just woke up and they’re like, ‘Oh yeah by the way they say you’re dating Selena Gomez.’ Like what? That’s the most random thing ever.”
