Dolly Parton Releases ‘Better Day,’ Prepares for World Tour

American country singing legend Dolly Parton officially released her 41st studio album today.

Titled “Better Day,” the album, Dolly’s follow up to her 2008 ‘Backwoods Barbie,’ contains the usual mix of mainstream country, pop, and bluegrass that the 65-year-old “queen of country” is known for.

In addition to the album, Parton is also preparing to begin a world tour scheduled to kickoff with performances at the Hollywood Bowl on July 22nd and 23rd.

From there, Dolly will make her way across the United States and then across the Atlantic as she heads Europe, where she has shows slated in Glasgow, Nottingham, Birmingham, Liverpool and London before performing in Denmark and Sweden.

For the final leg of the Better Day World Tour, Parton will travel to Australia for shows in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and will finally wrap up with a November 26th performance in Brisbane.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Parton is working on her highly anticipated new movie Joyful Noise.

Slated to hit theaters sometime in 2012, Joyful Noise follows the story of two choir members who hold differing opinions on how to win a national competition.
