CM Punk New Orleans Sightings: WrestleMania 30 To Feature WWE Return Due To AJ Lee Engagement?

Will CM Punk’s WWE return happen at WrestleMania 30 tomorrow night? The New Orleans sightings seem to indicate he’ll at least be there physically.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, some people seem to think that Philip Brooks’ engagement to AJ Lee in real life pretty much seals the deal. After all, if you’re going to make a lifelong commitment to a WWE Diva then it would be kind of awkward to both support your wife and not have anything to do with the organization she works for on a daily basis.

CM Punk has already been spotted in New Orleans for WrestleMania XXX, although whether he’s there as participant or to simply watch AJ Lee defend her Diva championship is the question of the day. But you just know his name will start getting chanted by fans even if he’s simply spotted sitting in the back.

Officially, CM Punk’s WWE contract does not expire until this summer so if Phil comes back in any official capacity then it’s likely to be tonight. When management has been questioned on the issue it’s also been avoidance, or to claim the leave of absence is temporary. For example, Vince McMahon claimed Punk was merely on a sabbatical and in the same time frame even Hulk Hogan talked about CM Punk being on vacation somewhere.

Many have questioned the real reason that CM Punk left the WWE. Some say he’s just tired of the management now allowing him to see his full potential in the WWE and now Triple H is offended with Philip Brooks because of the way he’s been avoiding the authority.

But Phil’s friend Steven Austin insists that CM Punk will be back:

“I’m telling you, I’m going to stick to my prediction that CM Punk is going to make his return at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans. I made this prediction two months ago here on the show. It’s been a long time, I think he’s cooled his jets, he’s got some rest, and I think it’s time to get back to work. I don’t see him participating in a match but it would be great to see him in a run-in to establish himself, to entrench himself immediately in a memorable and just a great moment, and I would say plant himself firmly in the middle of an angle, because he would be the angle, by attacking whoever he sees fit to attack or asserting his presence rather, whatever the case may be. But I see CM Punk coming back at WrestleMania 30. Who knows if it will happen. We will know in about six short days when WrestleMania actually happens.”

In any case, Twitter is abuzz with CM Punk New Orleans sightings:
