Kendrick Lamar is all set to bring his skills to Colorado.
The rapper is one of many recording artists slated to perform at the KS1075 Summer Jam in Denver later this year. In addition to Lamar, the 17th annual festival will host the likes of Juicy J and Tech N9ne. If you haven’t booked your summer vacation, then now’s the chance to get your affairs in order.
If Kendrick Lamar and the aforementioned rappers aren’t enough to lure everyone to the wilds of Colorado, then perhaps these folks will change their minds. Kid Ink, August Alsina, Sage The Gemini, and Iggy Azalea are also scheduled to do their thing on-stage at the event. Summer Jam XVII should go down this June.
According to the music savvy folks over at Hey Reverb, Kendrick Lamar and the gang aren’t the first big names to take the trip to the Colorado-based music festival. Macklemore & Ray Lewis, 2 Chainz, and J. Cole performed at the event in 2013. In other words, fans should anticipate an extremely good time.
Kendrick Lamar and the other performers will tackle the stage at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on June 6. Tickets go on sale at for the event on March 29. Start checking your couch for spare change if you think you might come up short for the price and surcharge.
For those who don’t follow Kendrick’s every movement, some of you may have missed or forgotten that the rapper toured with Kanye West last year. Although hitting the road with Kanye was probably a very interesting experience, Lamar said he learned a lot opening for West during the Yeezus shows.
Kendrick explained to The Hollywood Reporter:
“Kanye taught me to never to downplay your ideas. I learned to always stay as creative as possible and never have any boundaries. Those things that people called ‘rants’ on-stage are real conversations that we had behind closed doors — about business and how when you get to a certain level people won’t want to see you break through because they only see you as a rapper.”
If you can’t attend the KS1075 Summer Jam in Colorado, then perhaps the Jam’n 94.5 Summer Jam in Mansfield, Massachusetts is more your speed. Kendrick Lamar, Juicy J, Kid Ink, Lil Jon, and Ty Dolla $ign are presently expected to take the stage at the event on May 30.
