Liam Payne Spotted Puffing In Public
Liam Payne, member of popular boy band One Direction was caught casually smoking in public, drawing his fans’ ire on social media.
Singer Liam Payne was clicked by many fans at the Clevedon Pier in Somerset. He was at the pier shooting with the band. When the news of his presence spread, many eager fans raced to the pier to catch a glimpse of their star only to be disappointed to see Liam casually puffing away on a nicotine stick while taking a leisurely stroll with other members of the band, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.
The reactions to the Payne’s smoking started to flow thick and strong on the social media platforms, especially Twitter. Many fans, including photographer Graham Stone, pleaded with Liam asking him to stop smoking, as it’s bad for his health.
This is not the first time Liam Payne has been spied smoking in public. Late last year, Payne was spotted sporting a cigarette in a picture uploaded to Instagram by another One Direction member, Niall Horan. The photo was taken during the band’s Take Me Home world tour. The band was in Japan at that time. Even back then, fans had reacted strongly to such a blatant display of the addiction. A fan had even tried to reason with Payne explaining how smoking was an expensive addiction and makes the smoker smell like an ashtray.
“The habit will probably kill you,” bemoaned the fan.
Though Liam had attempted to hide the lit stick while the photo was being taken, he didn’t successfully manage to keep his habit out of sight from his fans.
Payne admits that it is indeed a bad habit and “hopefully” will quite “soon” as he has already been inspired by the actor Collin Farrell who managed to kick the butt, as reported by entertainment portal EntertainmentWise.com.
It is interesting to note that apparently no one from the band thought of cautioning Liam about possible outcry by his fans owing to his smoking openly in public. Perhaps the reason could be that Payne is apparently a very avid smoker. However, it is an openly acknowledged fact that other One Direction members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson have been spotted to puff–away in the past.
Another possible explanation that Liam Payne’s dedicated fans are conjuring up is that he is trying to slim down as he was recently ridiculed about gaining weight. Whatever the justification, smoking in public is certainly not a right message that Liam Payne may want to send to his young and impressionable fans.
