‘Orange Is The New Black’: Season 2 Sneak Peek

Are you ready to see what the ladies of Orange Is The New Black are up to? It’s almost time for season two, so with that said, Netflix has dropped a few visuals to go with the highly anticipated second season.

Like House of Cards, Orange Is The New Black was one of the only shows that had every popular site analyzing each character and their respective character arcs. It’s also a show that jump started new careers for talented actresses that have already been through the Hollywood ringer, like Taryn Manning, Taylor Schilling, and Natasha Lyonne.

It was announced that Orange Is The New Black will be returning on June 6 after a very short teaser trailer was released. When the teaser trailer hit the internet, fans of the show were desperate to see more of what was in store for the season season. Now, Netflix has decided to release three still photos of the upcoming season. One photo features the gruesome crime scene that lead character Piper (Taylor Schilling) found herself in after the events that followed the season finale.

The second photo displays our favorite convicts at a mock job fair. Since the women are mostly in jail for an extended period, we saw in season one that they are given some semblance of a “normal” life with holiday rituals (How could anyone forget the Christmas pageant?) and educational classes on different life skills.

So far it’s believed that uber-religious Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) survives the assault from the season finale, or maybe she’s a ghost, but then again we don’t really see Orange Is The New Black going there. At least not in its second season, perhaps in the fourth season.

The second season of the Netflix show brings a new recurring cast member. Said guest star is Lorraine Toussaint, who looks like she’s going to give Red (Kate Mulgrew) some trouble. Toussaint plays Vee who is a “longtime street tough.” According to Deadline the new character was jailed for being in charge of her own drug business that used children as drug runners.

The fate of another character is up in the air. Back in January we reported that actress Michelle Hurst, who plays Miss Claudette, was involved in a car crash that put her in a medically induced coma. After some time Hurst took a turn for the better and is said to be in stable condition. However, Hurst did lose out on filming and Netflix never commented on what they planned to do in her absence.
