Mega Deal: ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Renewed For 3 More Seasons

Attention Big Bang Theory fans! CBS has announced the mega-popular TV Show has been renewed for three more seasons – meaning fans of Sheldon Cooper and company have lots more laughs in store.

According to a press release found on CBS.com, the three year mega-deal extends The Big Bang Theory, television’s #1 comedy, through the 2016-2017 season.

“Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment in the release. “This multi-year deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We’re proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week.”

And according to a report on Variety the cast of The Big Bang Theory will also be taken care of very shortly:

“Warner Bros. TV is also in the midst of contract renewal negotiations with key cast members Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and others.”

Despite being in it’s seventh season The Big Bang Theory appears to be staying on top of it’s game both creatively and in the ratings department. They recently took number one in the ratings for Thursday night yet again, as reported by Inquisitr. And in terms of story, the Sheldon Cooper romance story with onscreen girlfriend Amy Fowler, played by Mayim Bialik has only served to strengthen the storylines. And as Inquisitr recently reported, there are a number of celebrity guest stars on the horizon including James Earl Jones, to keep things fresh.

The reaction on Twitter however has been mixed with some fans elated:
