Jessica Alba Says Her Kids Hate Her Playing The Villain

Jessica Alba has done just about everything over the course of her acting career. She’s played a heroine, she’s been the victim and she’s even acted as the villain. While Alba says portraying a baddie is the most fun, her daughters are not fond of her roles where she’s fighting the hero.

Jessica divulged the information that her daughter Honor is especially forthright about her disdain when her mother plays the bad guy. The actress gave an exclusive interview to theMail Online in which Jessica explained that Honor was confused by Alba playing an evil character in the film Escape from Planet Earth.

Jessica Alba played Lena in the film and her character’s evil motives are slowly revealed throughout the story line. Alba says Honor was about three and a half when she first saw the film and was confused by her mother playing someone who was doing something wrong.

During the interview, the Jessica made it clear she had to go into detail explaining the role to her oldest child.

‘My daughter was three and a half when she first saw the movie and now she’s five. But she was mainly really confused about why I was playing the baddie. She was like, “Is she evil?” And then she said, “Are you?” So I said, “Honor, it’s just fun, it’s just a movie – it’s like playing dress up”.

Despite the explanation, the first child for Jessica Alba and Cash Warren still didn’t like the idea, eventually asking her mother if she would be sure and be the good guy in her next film.

The confusion that Honor and her younger sister, two-year-old Haven are apparently suffering from isn’t anything new to children of actors. They’re simply too young to fully grasp that when they see their parents portraying a certain character, it doesn’t mean they actually have those personality traits in real life.

While she likely won’t be letter her daughters see the film anytime soon, Alba would most likely have an especially hard time explaining the character she portrays in Sin City and the upcoming Sin City 2. In those films she is a stripper who is first victimized by her customers and then apparently heads on a quest for a little revenge in the sequel.

Jessica has gone on the record saying she actually enjoys playing the baddie, which makes it that much harder to abide by her daughter’s wishes. Sadly for Alba’s daughters, Jessica Alba isn’t even slated to appear in a movie they’d likely be allowed to watch for the foreseeable future.
