Emma Watson And Rugby Player Boyfriend Out And About In London

Emma Watson and her rugby player boyfriend Matthew Janney were spotted out and about in Central London over the weekend.

As the former Harry Potter star gets ready to be a presenter at this Sunday’s 86th Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood, she is focusing on her studies and making time to be with her new beau, Matthew Janney.

Janney and Emma Watson have been dating for about two-months after reportedly hooking up following a rugby match between his team, Oxford University, and Cambridge at Twickenham Stadium in London on December 12. Emma — who attended Oxford for a year — was seen enthusiastically cheering Matthew on.

Rumors that the couple was dating were confirmed when photos of them on vacation in the Caribbean were released in the press in January and they showed a happy couple enjoying the white sandy beaches and blue waters, while clearly being affectionate with each other.

At the time, Janney’s family expressed delight at the news that he was dating Emma Watson, when his “second mother” stated in an interview to the Evening Standard:

“We are thrilled to bits that he is seeing Emma Watson. We are looking forward to meeting her soon. Hats off to her for finding such a wonderful young man. There is nothing bad anyone could say about Matt. He is absolutely lovely.”

Matthew’s story is a sad one, losing both parents to cancer — his dad died when he was a toddler at 42-years of age and his mom passed away when he was 16, from breast cancer.

Emma Watson, 23, and Matthew Janney, 21, met through mutual friends and have been together ever since. On the weekend they attended a Six Nations rugby match.

Now the question is, with the Academy Awards coming up this Sunday, will Emma Watson bring Matthew Janney to the ceremony in which she will be a presenter?
