South Park Crosses The Line Again

South Park just loves to start trouble, and I suppose that’s why the show is still so popular. One of South Park‘s most controversial moments was in 2011 during two part episodes “200” and “201.” Of course the show being as daring as it can be, these episodes were full of racist jokes and jabs at big celebrities. Tom Cruise and Rob Reiner were among the top ones.

What makes this episode so controversial is that Tom Cruise and Rob Reiner had “demand goo” that protected them from slander from the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Comedy Central, being a TV network, was worried about the repercussions of this episode so they had censored episode “201”

The result of the episode being censored made the creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker pretty upset. We could tell by their smart response

” We’ll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we’ll see what happens to it’.

Comedy Central decided to take episode “201” out of their reruns and because of that being the only network South Park is on, the episode was never see on TV again. Fans of the show were of course not satisfied about what happened. The episode was uploaded online for people to view the fully uncensored version. There was a speech at the end of the episode, but the sound was cut off so you can only see subtitles for it. Though here is the worst version of the entire episode

Kyle: “That’s because there is no goo. Mr. Cruise. You see, I learned something today. Throughout this whole ordeal, we’ve all wanted to show things that we weren’t allowed to show, but it wasn’t because of some magic goo. It was because of the magical power of threatening people with violence. That’s obviously the only true power. If there’s anything we’ve all learned, it’s that terrorizing people works.”

Jesus:” That’s right. Don’t you see, gingers, if you don’t want to be made fun of anymore, all you need are guns and bombs to get people to stop.”

Santa: “That’s right, friends. All you need to do is instill and be willing to hurt people and you can get whatever you want. the only true power is violence.”

Quotes like these is why South Park is such a controversial show, however its popularity never dies down. The scary part is South Park actually did receive threats by a radical Muslim Group.
