Debi Mazar Joins Hilary Duff And Sutton Foster In TV Land’s ‘Younger’

Debi Mazar is bringing her skills to the small screen in a new comedy.

The actress recently signed on to co-star in the single-camera TV Land series Younger. Mazar will reportedly join Sutton Foster (Bunheads, Shrek the Musical) and Hilary Duff in the upcoming adaptation of author Pamela Redmond Satran’s novel.

The show follows the misadventures of a single mom (Foster) who suddenly finds herself back in the workforce. Although she’s eager to land a job, the character soon learns that starting at the bottom of the proverbial food chain at her age is going to prove extremely difficult. However, all of that changes when she runs into someone who thinks she looks a lot younger.

Debi Mazar plays our heroine’s best friend on Younger, a woman who helps the single mom pass as 26 in order to find a job. She soon ends up working as an assistant for a temperamental boss and making friends with a 20-something co-worker (Hilary Duff).

TV Land recently ordered a pilot for Younger, which means the cable network has yet to commit to an entire series as of this writing. Considering the talent in front of the camera, the proposed series has a good shot at making it to the small screen.

Sex and the City creator Darren Star is the mastermind behind the Younger adaptation. The showrunner reportedly tapped fashion designer and stylist Patricia Field to help out with the new show. The two previously worked together on HBO’s popular series.

Although Devi Mazar is known for her work on the big screen, the actress is certainly no stranger to the world of television. She previously appeared on such noteworthy shows as L.A. Law, Working, That’s Life, and Good Vibes.

Mazar also appeared in several episodes of the acclaimed HBO comedy Entourage. The actress is also expected to make an appearance in the upcoming motion picture. The film reportedly began production last month.

Of course, Younger isn’t the only new show the folks at TV Land currently have in the oven. The network recently picked up the Jaime Pressly series Jennifer Falls, a multi-camera show that was eventually converted to a single-camera comedy. Missi Pyle and Joel David Moore co-star in the new sitcom.

“We are really excited to make this foray into single-camera comedyWith Jaime at the helm and such high-caliber talent behind the camera, we have the perfect combination for this multidimensional series,” TV Land said in a recent statement.
