One Direction ‘Midnight Memories’ Music Video Arrives, Zayn Malik Fans Aren’t Happy

The music video for One Direction’s “Midnight Memories” finally hit the internet last week. Unfortunately, Zayn Malik’s screen time doesn’t add up to very much.

Fans weren’t exactly pleased with the amount of time their favorite One Direction singer spends in front of the camera during the new clip. In fact, Malik only spends around 11 seconds by himself in the music video. This is decidedly less than some of his band mates.

To make matters worse for fans of the singer, Zayn doesn’t have a solo in “Midnight Memories.” This has prompted some folks to wonder if the guy is slowly getting phased out of One Direction. Is Malik’s departure from the group looming on the horizon?

An anonymous source told The Daily Star:

“The rest of the boys sing solos in the track, so obviously they feature on their own in the video a bit more. But it’s weird that in a lot of the group shots, like on the police boat, Zayn’s back is turned. Otherwise, he’s almost always lurking out of shot, except when all five of the boys are on screen. It reflects how quiet he always is in interviews with the others, too.”

Some websites believe that Zayn Malik doesn’t get a lot of screen time in the One Direction “Midnight Memories” music video because he’s the least popular member of the group. As of this writing, the singer has the least amount of followers on Twitter. However, this didn’t stop those fans from voicing their angry opinions about the clip.

Check out some reactions to the lack of Malik below.

Are you a fan of Zayn Malik? What do you think about the One Direction singer only getting around 11 seconds of solo screen time in the “Midnight Memories” music video? Do you think he’s getting ready to leave the band?
