Kanye West and George Zimmerman to Box?

George Zimmerman has decided who he’d like to fight in his upcoming celebrity boxing match: Kanye West.

According to TMZ, Zimmerman expressed interest in fighting the hip-hop star because of his history of violence towards “defenseless people.” While declining to offer any more details, the likely cause is the recent incident West had inside a Beverly Hills chiropractor’s office after an 18-year-old patient screamed racial slurs at his fiance, Kim Kardashian.

According to reports, Kardashian was swarmed by paparazzi when entering the building, and the teen tried to commiserate with her by calling the pushy photographers “fa**ots” and “ni**ers.” When Kardashian informed him that the n-word wasn’t appropriate, he turned on her, saying she was a “ni**er lover” and a “stupid slut.”

Kardashian immediately whipped out her phone and called her fiance, who arrived in a rage. He found the boy in the chiropractor’s waiting room and whaled on him until a nearby massage therapist forced them apart.

While West has made reparations in the form of a $250,000 settlement, that apparently isn’t enough for Zimmerman, who told the media he’d love to face Yeezus in the ring.

Zimmerman, of course, made headlines in July 2013 when he was acquitted for the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Despite shooting the unarmed teenager in the chest, Zimmerman claimed he feared for his safety because of Martin’s youth, race and gangster-like appearance.

Zimmerman has been the subject of substantial controversy for both his actions and his acquittal. He agreed to a celebrity boxing match, however, when approached by producers in early January.

“Boxing isn’t new to me,” Zimmerman says. “It’s something I had picked up well before the incident, and it’s something that I liked.”

At least one other celebrity would have no problem exchanging punches with Zimmerman. Vibe has reported that Jayceon Taylor, better known as The Game, has expressed interest in sending Zimmerman to the floor.

“It would not be boxing for me. I’d be boxing for the legacy of Trayvon Martin and for his family,” he told reporters, adding that he would “definitely take pleasure” in knocking him out.

“I want to show him you can solve your disputes without a weapon,” he explained.

As for the match itself, nothing has been set in stone, though Zimmerman’s hosts say they’d be willing to move the match to LA if West is interested in putting on gloves.

West’s team has yet to comment on the invitation.
